Another training hurdle...

We started working on a wormer tube filled with Applesauce today. She was pretty wiry and combative the first five minutes. I addressed respect issues and started again, took about five minutes and I was able to get the thing in her mouth using approach and retreat, and another ten or so and she was thinking it wasn't so bad. I'm going to give her apple sauce today and tomorrow, and get her wormed sometime this week.

Then we have to start on fake shots so I'll be able to get that done too. It usually works best if I do it myself, but always some preliminary training involved to get it finally accomplished.

I've worked hard today, hope I can still walk tomorrow. We've been dragging branches and burning brush from the hurricane in the fall that whipped clear up into Indiana, and then a big ice storm. We could probably burn all summer and not get it all cleaned up. Feeding the horses and calling it a day. Gonna prop up my feet and finish reading Demon's & Angels. ~E.G.

  1. Do you mean Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown? If so that is a great book! I have it right here. I read it years ago and still remember it and think about it. I think it's better than the DaVinci Code.

  2. Yes, same book. I'm about to finish it, wish they'd make it into a movie. One of the best keep your interest books I've read in a long time.
