Pouring rain, and cold today

Phebes spent the day out in the wet, eating hay under the shed, and rolling in the mud (lovely). I'm hoping the rain will break by morning and I can get out and do some more ground exercises with her. She has been so disrespectful this week. Even tried to kick me, which she hasn't done in a long time. With Phebes it really needs to be all work, and little play, or she's a bad girl. Where does one find the time? But we do the best we can, and that is all we can do. We have our good days now and then, and our bad days too.

I was very pleased to find a voicemail when I came in from the barn today. Michelle, another endurance rider is hauling to the park where I ride next weekend. I'm hoping to get to meet and ride with her soon. I'm game as long as we don't have the wet / cold combo going on. I can ride in the rain, and I can ride in the cold, just not to interested in both at the same time. Yes, along with being an Endurance Granny, I am an Endurance Weather Weanie...wet and cold are not my thing. In fact, I'd happily trade the farm for a smaller place on a trail head in TN, NC, or SC that would put me in the zone for lovely winter riding, with my layoff in the heat of summer. OH YEAH.

  1. You know what I love about your blog? Your attitude: determined, feisty, committed for the long term (weather notwithstanding!) Phebes is a lucky filly. :-)
