The Work Out Plan






Week #1
Day 1: Hour workout with 15 minutes, trot intervals.

Day 2: Hour work out with 20 minutes, trot intervals.

On the weekend: 5 mile pleasure ride.

Day 1: 1 hour work out with 25 minute, trot intervals.

Day 2: 1 hour workout with 30 minute, trot intervals.

Weekend: 7 mile pleasure ride.

Week #3
Day 1: 1 1/2 hour workout, with 40 minute, trot intervals.

Day 2: 1 1/2 hour workout with 45 minute, trot intervals.

Weekend: 7.5 mile LSD, with short trotting intervals added.

Week #4
Day 1: 1 1/2 hour interval workout

Day 2: 1 1/2 hour interval workout

Day 3: 10 mile LSD, with short trotting intervals added.

Week #5
Day 1: 5 mile cross country intervals.(trot 5 minutes, walk 5 minutes)


Day 2: 5 mile cross country intervals.(trot 5 minutes, walk 5 minutes)

Day 3: arena work x 1 hour.

Weekend: 15 mile LSD with short trotting intervals

Day 1: 5 mile cross country at the trot

Day 2: 5 mile cross country at the trot

Day 3: hills x 30 minutes

Weekend: 15 mile LSD with trotting intervals (trot 10 minute intervals,then walk 5 min.)

Day 1: 5 miles cross country at the trot, hand walk cool down

Day 2: 5 miles cross country at the trot, hand walk cool down

Day 3: hills X 1 hour (walking up and walking down)

Weekend: 15 mile LSD with trotting intervals (trot 15, walk 5)

Week #8

Day 1: 5 miles cross country at the trot

Day 2: 5 miles cross country at the trot

Day 3: 20 miles LSD with trotting intervals (trot 15, walk 5)

Day 4: Hills X 1 hour (walking up and walking down)

Further Conditioning will consist of 15 mile rides with gradually increasing speed, mid week 5 mile speedy rides, and hill sessions. We will try to get some training in at Henryville through late summer and ride with Chris once we are at her horse's level again.
