(sound of my head on desk)
Journey has a slice in the bend of her foot below the pastern but above the heel bulb. She was vet-wrapped, and booted.
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW.
She didn't seem off at all. A little squirrelly which is normal for a horse that has been lazy for several weeks.
It isn't real deep, but will be problematic with a boot, and would get skinned open without one. I can't ride for a few days anyway due to my work schedule, so I'm gonna smear antibiotic and swat on it and hope for the best.

On a happier note our mileage since the BBBDR began which is about the time I started tracking on the new Garmin.
(drum roll)
132 hours logged in the saddle
53,630 feet of elevation gain
584.18 miles of distance.
GO SPOTTED WONDER!

Ouch! We had a filly do that at work just by pawing at one of the wire fences and catching herself... not nice!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Journey's injury! Hope it heals easily. But hooray, and congrats on the numbers you've ridden - that's impressive!!!
