Wouldn't it be fun to put together some blog teams that would compete for miles/ or points for 2012? A team could be 4 horse rider teams (from virtually anywhere) competing in rides on their own turf. Results would be tabulated from the AERC official website. Hmmm....how to organize it. Mileage teams and Point teams (so you could play either way). Kind of like your small league softball teams, only distance!
Thoughts? Ideas? We could pool together for some amazing and wonderous award...

That sounds like a ton of fun. If I have a horse to ride come spring, count me in.
ReplyDeleteI will cheer yall in but I'm not in, nope, no way. My only Real Goal is Decade Team (and I have no way of knowing if that's remotely feasible with us!). As long as I complete one 50 next year I'll be over the moon happy. It's really kept me going thru the tendon thing this year - "Well, I got my 50 for 2011 already so it doesn't matter if we don't get any more AERC miles." I'll be cheering on the sidelines though!
ReplyDeleteIf we just do miles it would open it up for more folks to play. But of course we'd need enough people to make it worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteI'd be game for something like that!
ReplyDeleteI'd be game for miles. I'm not sure if I'll get brave enough to do any official rides this year, but I GPS most of my miles. It would be a great way to keep us all accountable, and to get out and ride!
ReplyDeleteNow that is an interesting idea...we'd all have to swear a vow of honesty, but what if we just tracked our riding miles PERIOD. That would make it fun, and unpredictable, and we wouldn't need a team. Just some rules, and a blog to log-in and enter the information for tracking purposes. I'm going to be thinking on it. Thanks Irish!
