A Rather Meaningless but Delightful Discovery

Journey is setting on a fluffy and abundant winter coat.  I am told she is a winter weanie and detests the cold, the wet, the rain.  I can attest to the fact that she does abhor the rain, it puts her into an anxious tizzy fit.  Me being me, sometimes you have to grab the fun from the little things.  Her  appaloosa spots are deeper and fluffier than her white undercoat.  They are like a relief of carved wonderfulness which I have to feel each time I let her in or out of the stall.  Phebes also had this coat variation only her "spots" were very big pinto horse spots.  The fur in the black-skinned areas was very short, dense, and soft.  While the pinto markings stood up much fluffier.  In Journey's case, we are talking a lot of spots!  So her little body appears texturized.  I find it as fascinating as the iris blooms opening in the spring.  She is indeed, a spotted wonder.  ~ E.G.

  1. Oooh, how neat! Dixie's fur is exactly the same over her white and bay areas. Jealous of your textured wonders!
